Pickle Epiphany (2010): 

  • Justin and Tyler discover they are budding home-picklers . They sample a batch of what would later become our Jalapeño Honey Dills and have a “Pickle Epiphany.” They were the best pickles that they ever tasted. Their pickling hobby becomes an obsession.

Park Wedding Pickles (2011): 

  • Justin and Tyler make Park Wedding Pickles, Justin’s wedding favor. The guests' feedback is amazing, and they get rave reviews, giving Justin and Tyler the confidence to pursue the idea of opening a pickle company.

The Real Dill Becomes A Real Idea (2012): 

  • With no business experience, no manufacturing backgrounds, and no food production knowledge, Justin and Tyler use their passion, perseverance, and determination to take their pickling hobby to the next level and make it into a full-time business. They name it The Real Dill.
  • Jalapeño Honey Dills Are Born (2012)
  • Habanero Horseradish Dills Are Born (2012)

The Real Dill Hits The Farmers Markets (2013): 

  • The Real Dill enters the Denver farmers market circuit, debuting our Colorado-made artisan pickles.
  • Bloody Mary Mix Is Born (2013)
  • Caraway Garlic Dills Are Born (2013)

The Real Dill Moves Into The Dillery (2014): 

  • After renting a tiny space at a commissary kitchen and warehouse space in multiple locations across Denver, The Real Dill moves into our first official home: The Dillery.

Compost Program Launches (2015): 

  • The Real Dill creates a composting program with the long term goal of achieving zero food. A local nonprofit picks up all of our food scraps and turns them into compost treasure.

Recognized as a Bronze Member of Environmental Leadership Program (2016)

  • Became a Certifiably Green Business (2016)

Charitable Partner Program Launches (2017): 

  • The Real Dill creates a community outreach program, in which we partner with one local nonprofit on a long-term basis to achieve our goals of giving back through outreach and fundraising.
  • Implemented Automated Label Machine (2017): The Real Dill brings in its first label machine that applies the bottom label to all finished jars, creating the first automated step in our production process. All products are still handmade and the top label is still applied and stamped by hand.
  • Recognized as a Silver Member of Environmental Leadership Program (2017)

Green Chile Hot Sauce Becomes A Full Time Product (2018)

  • Bloody Mary Rimming Spice Is Born (2018)
  • Custom Kettle Installed (2018): The Real Dill brings in a 650 gallon, custom kettle and stops pouring Bloody Mary Mix by hand during the production process. Bloody Mary Mix production capacity increases by 225%

Recognized as a Gold Member of Environmental Leadership Program (2019)

    Passport Series Launches (2020):

    • Thai Chile Gingers and Spicy Caribbeans become limited products, and Ethiopian Berbere Spice and Vindaloo Curry are born.

    Prospector Series Launches (2021): 

    • Prospector Series launches as our new creative outlet for making experimental products that tap into rare ingredients and eccentric combinations.
