How are your products shipped?

Depending on the size of the package and the destination, packages are typically sent via Fedex Ground.

How soon after I submit my order will it be shipped?

We handcraft all of our products with the utmost attention to quality and detail. This includes prepping, packing, labeling, and shipping each jar. Handmade items require a little extra time and care to prepare compared to mass produced goods. All of our items are sent out almost immediately upon production completion, ensuring they're at their peak freshness when they arrive at your door.

Please allow 2 business days for your order to process before shipping. During the holiday season (November-December), processing times take longer than usual due to an influx in orders. Additionally, ship times may be delayed by FedEx during this busy season. Please contact us immediately if you need to modify or cancel your order by emailing support@therealdill.com.

In case of cold weather, we reserve the right to withhold shipping for as long as needed to prevent product from freezing and breaking in transit. We make an effort to process orders as quickly as possible.

Once your order is in FedEx's possession, we can't control how long it will take to arrive at your location. We also cannot make any changes to orders, and we can't make guaranteed deliveries. If you need a guaranteed delivery date, please contact us prior to placing your order so we can calculate an expedited shipping quote for you.

When is the last day to place my order for Christmas 2023 arrival?

All orders must be placed by December 14, 2023 for guaranteed arrival by Christmas.

We will have very limited shipping between December 25, 2023 - January 1, 2024.

Will I receive confirmation when it has shipped?

Yes you will receive confirmation along with tracking information.

What happens if something breaks?

We are very careful about the way the products are packed so we can minimize breakage, but when you are shipping glass, it is impossible to prevent all breakage. If you receive damaged product, simply send an email to support@therealdill.com with (1) your name and order number, (2) a photo of the damaged product, and (3) a description of which items are damaged. We will either reship or process a refund for the damaged products.

Do you ship outside of the continental U.S.?

We currently do not ship outside of the continental U.S.

Pickle FAQ:

How many pickles come in a jar?

The number of pickles that come in a jar depends on the size of the cucumber, but on average, there are around 16 pickles in each 32 oz jar. Regardless of size, we pack the jars with as many pickles as we can fit! You’ll never see empty space in the jar where we could have fit more pickles.

How do make you your pickles so crunchy?

There are a lot of precautions that we take to make our pickles crisp. The single most important thing is that we never compromise when it comes to the quality of the ingredients we use, and we ensure we receive the freshest cucumbers that we can find.

How long do your pickles last?

They’ll last as long as it takes for you to eat them as long as all of the product inside of the jar is submersed in the brine. If one of the pickles is sticking out above the brine and it sits like that for several months, mold can develop. Otherwise, the pickles won't go bad. We do, however, recommend eating them within one year of when they were made. The date that they were made is stamped on the jar. After one year they will start to degrade in quality and become less crunchy.

Are your pickles vegan?

All of our pickles are vegan except for our Jalapeño Honey Dills.

Are your pickles gluten free?

All of our pickles are gluten free. The only product that we make that isn't gluten free is Green Chile Hot Sauce.

Do your pickles need to be refrigerated?

Only after they have been opened. Until then, they are safe to store in a cool, dark place.

Which one is your “regular dill”?

The Caraway Garlic Dills is the closest thing we make to a traditional dill pickle.

Can you eat the extra stuff in the jars?

Yes! With just a little bit of creativity you can use everything in the jar. Check our Recipes page for some great recipe ideas.

Are your products made with preservatives or other weird ingredients?

No, we do not use any ingredients that you would not recognize from your own pantry or garden. Check out the list of ingredients on the “Nutrition & Ingredients Tab” on each product page.

Are your pickles fermented?

No, they are preserved using a vinegar-based brine.

Where do the cucumbers come from?

Depending on the time of year, they may come from Colorado, California, Florida, Georgia, Mexico, Michigan, or wherever we can find the best quality cucumbers at the time.

Why do you put sugar in your dill pickles?

We use a marginal amount of sugar because it helps to create a roundness with the salt and vinegar, which makes those flavors a little less harsh and pronounced. We only add a marginal amount of sugar, and most people do not even detect any sweetness.

What is the Seasonal series?

When it comes to the ingredients we source, we make no compromises and employ rigid standards for the quality we will accept. After all, we believe that in the end, our products can only be as good as the ingredients that go into them. We started our Seasonal Series to celebrate the seasonality of fresh ingredients. We create limited-edition, periodic releases that feature one ingredient at its peak freshness.

Bloody Mary Mix FAQ:

How long will the mix last?

Unopened, it is good for one year from when it was made. The date that it was made is stamped on the jar. After it has been opened the 32 oz jars should last at least three months in the fridge, if not longer. We recommend using the 64 oz growlers within one month of opening it.

Does the mix need to be refrigerated?

Only after it has been opened. Until then, it is safe to stored it in a cool, dark place.

How many Bloody Marys can I make with one jar?

It depends on what size glass you are using, but you should be able to make 4-8 Bloody Marys with the 32 oz jar and 8-16 with the 64 oz growler.

How do I make a Bloody Mary?

There are many ways to make a great Bloody Mary. We have a number of recipes on our Recipes page that you can check out. If you make up a great recipe please let us know about it!

Can I use it with a spirit other than vodka?

Yes, our favorite spirit to mix with it is tequila. It also goes great with beer, gin, whisky and scotch. Check out our Recipes page for some recipes.

Does this come with vodka already in it?

No.

Can I drink this on its own - without adding vodka?

Absolutely! Many people just drink it without adding anything to it. It’s a really delicious vegetable juice or alternative to V8.

Is this mix with preservatives or other weird ingredients?

No, we do not use any ingredients that you would not recognize from your own pantry or garden. Check out the list of ingredients on the “Nutrition & Ingredients Tab” on the product page.

What is cucumber water?

Instead of using preservatives, we soak all of our cucumbers in a water solution in order to preserve their crispness, so they remain crunchy as pickles. We use this filtered, cucumber infused water in our Bloody Mary Mix to elevate the fresh flavors and put a pickle spin on the recipe.

Do you make it or is it made by a contractor?

We do not contract out any production. We make everything in our own facility (called the Dillery) in Denver, Colorado.
